Meanwhile, the Senate defeated proposed legislation to expand background checks for gun buyers, 54-46. Guaranteed that the NRA was all too happy to have recent events provide cover for the cowardly politicians securely in their back pockets.

Fuck the NRA, and fuck the cowardly politicians who are so busy being terrified of the NRA, they ignore 90% of Americans. Fuck them all forever.

Hmm, I’m a gun owner and a supporter of the 2nd Amendment, but I have to say, of all the crazy ignorant ideas that some of these legislators had, I can’t see background checks as that big a deal. Sure the bad guys won’t do them, but as honest citizens, would it be that big a deal to give them the information that they already have, especially when you have a carry permit already? Those opposed to background checks, please educate me. I went through one to get my permit, so I already have had one and have papers to prove it. What’s the big deal?
